3D laser scanners create "point clouds" of data from the surface of an object. In other words, 3D laser scanning is a way to capture the exact size and shape of a physical object in the computer world in the form of a three-dimensional digital representation.
The 3D scanner is now more portable than ever and can produce accurate and high-resolution 3D scans, but remains easy to use. With dynamic references, you can take the system with you wherever you go and get accurate, repeatable 3D scanning results in any environment. It is the ideal tool for reverse engineering and inspection during the development cycle of a product.
When companies still need laser scanning, they often consider buying their own scanning equipment, which can be very expensive if equipment of a commercial quality is needed.
